Annunciation Orthodox School (AOS) seeks a talented, experienced, and knowledgeable Director of Learning Support who is eager to support the school’s mission as we develop the “hearts and minds” of our students. The perfect candidate will be highly collaborative and exhibit strong interpersonal skills. The Director of Learning Support supports students with learning differences in PK3 - 8th grade and serves as a resource for students, parents, and faculty. This person in this position will collaborate with the school’s leadership team to further develop and manage the school’s learning support framework.

Reports to:  Head of Middle School and Head of Early Childhood and Lower School         

Status:  Salaried/Exempt           

Start Date:  July 7, 2025

Work Schedule:  Year-round, Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; additional time as needed for after-school meetings and events, which typically includes staying until 5:00 PM on Tuesdays.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the school’s learning support department by executing current systems as well as collaboratively developing and strategically implementing improvements to the school’s current approaches
• Work closely with the academic coordinators to ensure alignment and support transitions within divisions 
• Work closely with the counselors to co-facilitate the school’s Student Support Team
• Facilitate grade-level team meetings to discuss and analyze the progress of students who demonstrate a concerning pattern of performance
• Support the school’s faculty by offering resources, assistance, and training to enable them to better meet the needs of all learners
• Organize and oversee all standardized testing in the School (ex: ERBs and Pre-K WPPSI) and proctor students with accommodations 
• Meet with individual parents, when requested, to discuss the academic progress of their child  
• Recommend appropriate supports, including referrals for a diagnostic evaluation, classroom accommodations, and referrals to outside professionals
• Aid in interpreting evaluation results
• Connect families with academic tutors 
• Manage the scheduling of outside specialized professionals providing services on campus and monitor student involvement with these professionals
• Provide documentation on behalf of current and former students requesting accommodations on standardized tests such as the ACT, SAT, or ISEE
• Write individual learning plans (ILPs) targeting students’ specific learning needs
• Act as the liaison with local school districts
• Perform other duties as needed
  
  

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree with special education focus; Master’s degree preferred 
• Experience leading and facilitating a learning support or special education program
• Extensive knowledge of learning differences, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder
• Experience interpreting and applying the results of neuropsychological and psycho-educational assessments
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, reading and math skill development, and response to intervention
