Sage Ridge School Science teachers have a deep understanding and passion for leading learning with young people fostering inquiry, critical thinking, and analytical communication through the lens of our Pillars. Essential Job Functions:
Teach 9th grade conceptual and computational physics (two sections)
Teach AP Physics-C or AP Physics-I (one section alternated by year)
Teach engineering and robotics elective (one section) or math class (one section)
Supervise lunch and clean-up duties 2-3 times per year
Chaperone two after-school student government events per year
Attend weekly faculty meetings
Maintain up-to-date gradebooks, homework calendars, and parent communication
Possess strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Blackbaud, etc.
Support the School's mission and model the School's pillars: Scholarship, Respect, Integrity, Courage, and Community
Have strong written and verbal communication skills
Attend Back to School Night and other school functions that occur outside of school hours
Job QualificationsRequired:
Relevant Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent coursework and three years of full-time teaching or a Master's degree and one year of full-time teaching.
An understanding of and an appreciation for a Physics First science curriculum.
A team player with excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
A desire to work and build rapport with students in 7th to 12th grades
