Episcopal Day School, a PreK-8 co-educational, independent day school established in 1944 and located in Augusta, Georgia, seeks a passionate, experienced, and nurturing Second-Grade Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct, differentiated instruction for all students in a full-day program, focusing on collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Assess and determine the developmental stages of each child through observation and discussion
Set appropriate limits and guidelines for children both individually and in group settings
Recognize families as partners in the educational process
Create and implement lessons in alignment with the school expectations and curricular guidelines using Singapore Math, TCI Science, and CKLA curriculum.
Identify, select, and create instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying learning styles and needs.
Evaluate student growth and progress.
Implement clear and consistent classroom management strategies focused on student social-emotional needs
Respect the confidentiality of children and their families
Actively support the mission and strategic plan of the school
Communicate and partner effectively with students, families, teachers, and other professionals
Model professional and ethical standards when working with students, families, and colleagues
Embrace ongoing professional growth opportunities and processes based on research-driven standards and practices.
