Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and respond to each individual students’ learning needs and create enrichment opportunities; implement instructional strategies that contribute to meaningful learning experiences for all learners
- Work with grade-level teams to address the needs of the whole child
- Integrate the teaching of effective organization and study skills
- Use our Learning Management System to communicate and organize assignments
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication (parent conferences, written correspondence including narrative reports)
- Effectively monitor and manage student learning using a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment and develop respectful relationships with students by using conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques within the classroom
- Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through active participation in professional growth activities
- Maintain an effective, safe, and well-organized classroom
- Integrate technology appropriately in the classroom
- Serve as an advisor to a small group of students
- Share duties and responsibilities with other members of the faculty
Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching High School Math, preferably including Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses
- B.S. in Mathematics required, M.A. in Mathematics preferred
- Independent college preparatory school experience preferred
- Student-centered, collaborative, approachable, passionate about mathematics
