Randolph School is seeking an innovative teacher within our Upper School Division (grades 9-12). Applicants should bring experience teaching science including hands-on laboratory work. In addition to teaching, the position includes advising individual students and assisting with science competitions.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Identify and respond to each individual students’ learning needs and create enrichment opportunities; implement instructional strategies that contribute to meaningful learning experiences for all learners
Work with colleagues and administrators to address the needs of the whole child
Integrate the teaching of effective organization and study skills
Use our Learning Management System to communicate and organize assignments
Demonstrate effective written and oral communication (parent conferences, written correspondence including narrative reports)
Effectively monitor and manage student learning using a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress
Create a supportive and inclusive environment and develop respectful relationships with students by using conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques within the classroom
Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through active participation in professional growth activities
Maintain an effective, safe, and well-organized classroom
Integrate technology appropriately in the classroom
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in science required
Two to three years of experience in teaching Physics, AP Physics preferred
Master’s degree in science preferred
Independent college preparatory school experience preferred
Additional experience in Chemistry will be considered
Student-centered, collaborative, approachable, passionate about history and current events
Interest and ability to contribute to our athletics and extracurricular programs is an additional consideration.
