Holy Ghost Prep, an all-boys, grades 9th through 12th college preparatory school in Bensalem, Pa., seeks a full-time math teacher to begin January 6, 2025. This full-time position involves teaching and engaging students at all levels of math. Teachers are required to teach five classes in a collaborative environment with highly motivated students and an experienced faculty. In addition, a faculty member is expected to assume community responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of a broad base of mathematical skills and content
- Implement a standard aligned, academic program which includes lesson plans, accommodations, assignments, and assessments
- Assume responsibility for the academic progress of students and actively work to ensure all students meet or exceed expectations on academic measures up to and including standardized tests
- Provide an engaging learning environment using a solid understanding of strategies to teach, assess, and promote effective upper level critical thinking/analytical skills to adolescent male learners
- Create and maintain a strong classroom culture with effective management skills, communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
- Collaborate with co-workers to ensure curricular coherences, discuss student work, share best practices and design opportunities for community building through incentives and enjoyment
- Communicate with school administration and leadership on all relevant matters as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- PA Teacher Certification and/or prior secondary school teaching experience desirable
- Two years relevant work experience preferred
