OVERVIEW:
The Lexington School helps students learn in an atmosphere of playful discovery and multi-sensory experience while engaging in TLS Mission Skills. The Kindergarten Teacher will implement various daily activities, including observing, supervising, educating children, organizational duties, and optimizing the learning environment while meeting the childcare health and safety standards. They will collaborate with the other Kindergarten team members to ensure consistent curriculum implementation.
Essential Responsibilities for the Classroom:
Planning, developing, and executing lessons that reflect the curriculum and core educational standards.
Adapting the curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of identified students or subgroups of students.
Evaluating the academic and social growth of students.
Evaluating student progress and the ability to meet course standards, knowledge and skills.
Establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior.
Employing a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing pupils, including demonstrations, discussions, and lectures. This could include but not limited to standing, bending, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, helping to move or relocate sets or props, some lifting may also be involved as part of the instructional process.
Ability to utilize educational equipment, such as materials, books, and other learning aids.
Provide opportunities for students to perform, compete, demonstrate, and improve upon skills learned.
Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures throughout the day
Essential Responsibilities to maintain employment:
Complete a professional development plan with the director annually
Complete a staff evaluation with the director annually
Complete CPR/First Aid Training every two years (if required by the director)
Follow and implement school policies and procedures daily

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required.
Minimum 3 years of experience required.
Proof of Commonwealth Child Care Credential (CCCC)
Satisfactory results on the National Background Check Program for Kentucky and any out of state background checks obtained by the school
Provide a TB skin test or health professional statement
