The School Store & Mailroom Clerk reports to both the School Store Manager and the Post Office Manager and is responsible for helping and assisting with the effective and efficient operation of the store and mail operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - School Store
Accurately completes Point of Sale (POS) transactions while providing excellent customer service.
Assists in ordering, pricing, and maintaining the inventory of supplies, clothing, and general items offered in the store.
Restocks inventory to the sales floor and assists the School Store Manager in receiving merchandise.
Collaborates with the School Store Manager and sales representatives to select new and reordered items for sale in the store.
Supports and assists in maintaining the School Store website.
Performs other duties as assigned by the School Store Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Mailroom
Assists with the mail and package operations across campus including supporting the mail locker system.
Sorts and distributes all incoming mail and packages to students, faculty, and staff.
Prepares outgoing letters and packages.
Maintains records of incoming and outgoing shipments and forwarding addresses.
Assists in forwarding first class mail and packages to former students and faculty.
Prepares monthly reports as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Post Office Manager.
Qualifications and Prerequisites
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in retail merchandising and Point of Sale (POS) systems operations.
At least one (1) year of retail, clerical, and/or cashier experience.
Experience working in a high school and/or college operation is preferred.
Ability to use office equipment such as calculator, copier, telephone and personal computer.
Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds on a daily basis.
Experience with retail websites is desirable.
