Position Description
Christ Church Episcopal School (CCES) seeks exceptional candidates for the position of Upper School Mathematics Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. We offer a highly-motivated, collaborative learning environment that supports teacher professional growth, nurtures student-teacher relationships, and develops creative and critical thinking skills in every student. This position will involve teaching 5 sections of multiple levels of mathematics, as well as mentoring an advisee group of Upper School students of diverse interests and backgrounds.
Responsibilities
Deliver highly engaging, student-centered, and inquiry-based instruction
Maintain and communicate high academic and personal expectations for all students, and provide relational classroom support to meet them
Demonstrate enthusiasm for working with students to build positive classroom and school cultures of growth
Adjust instruction based on the learning needs of each student
Seek and incorporate feedback from students, colleagues, and administrators to enhance teaching and learning practices and outcomes
Enrich a diverse and inclusive community and support a multi-faceted educational program designed to address the needs of the “whole person”
Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions
Engage in regular team planning, peer observation, and sharing of practices with colleagues to develop cohesive and innovative curricula
Communicate openly with families and administrators to sustain effective wraparound partnership
Model pursuit of excellence and growth mindset in a dynamic independent school environment
Essential Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in mathematics, education, or related field; Master’s degree desired
Strong content and pedagogical knowledge
Excellent collaboration skills, including tact in listening and incorporating different perspectives
Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing
Ability to exercise good judgment and comply with school standards
Commitment to modeling the mission and values of Christ Church Episcopal School
Desire to engage in the life and culture of the school, including possible involvement with clubs, activities, performing groups, or athletic teams
