This position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including:
Salary range between $70,000 to $105,000 determined by experience and credentials

Located in Foster City, Ronald C Wornick Jewish Day School is a pluralistic community day school for students from TK through 8th grade. We are a warm and welcoming community with a collaborative team focused on bettering our school, supporting our students and welcoming our families. Wornick Day School is seeking an Upper Elementary Math and Science Teacher beginning the 2025-2026 school year. We are seeking an experienced teacher who has knowledge of progressive educational environments. While this position is listed as a full time position, we will also consider candidates who are seeking a part time position as long as it is 75% + FTE.
The Math and Science Teacher will
Teach between 4-5 sections of Math/Science in 4th and/or 5th grade
Provide an instructional program based on the needs of each student
Implement our school adopted programs as the base curriculum for the grade
Design engaging lessons that implement Project Based Learning
Create and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and other teachers
Differentiate effectively for diverse learners in the classroom and follow student learning plans
Assess students learning frequently and effectively to ensure grade level standards are being met
Create engaging lesson and unit plans under the supervision of the Assistant Head of School and other educational leaders at the school
Document student learning and report home frequently on student assessments and progress
Utilize multi-modal methods of instruction and learning in recognition of the diverse ways students learn
Assist the administration in creating a respectful school environment in support of the behavioral and cultural policies of the school
Provide appropriate and engaging individualized work for students in support of plans created with parents, tutors, aides and specialists
Collaborate with grade level peers to support students, integrate learning across multiple subject areas and create a holistic grade level experience
Recognize parents as critical partners in student learning and utilize support services within the school
Use technology appropriately to advance learning goals
Attend all staff meetings and fulfill other duties assigned by the Assistant Head of School (recess duties, club supervision, etc.)
Receive and provide feedback in a professional manner with other school professionals
The ideal candidate will
Have a degree in Education, Math, Science or a closely related field, Teaching Credential and/or Master’s preferred
Have at least five years of formal teaching experience
Have familiarity with Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards
Have strong content knowledge, particularly around 4th and 5th grade math, pre-Algebra, Algebra, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
Have experience in Project Based Learning (certifications are a plus) and other progressive instructional methods
Have a growth mindset and have a collaborative professional orientation
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
