Position Purpose: The Head of Lower School at the Ponte Vedra Campus serves as the visionary and operational leader for all programs and activities from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5. Essential Functions:
Leadership and School Operations
Serve as the educational leader of the Lower School, managing daily operations in alignment with the school’s mission and values.
Oversee the development and implementation of academic programs and co-curricular activities that support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
Ensure campus safety and operational efficiency, adhering to safety, fire, and security protocols.
Develop and manage the Lower School calendar, including events, schedules, and parent engagement initiatives.
Oversee budget planning and resource allocation to support strategic priorities.
Faculty and Staff Development
Supervise, evaluate, and support faculty, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
Partner with the Associate Head of School to recruit, hire, and retain exceptional faculty and staff aligned with the school’s values.
Student Support
Guide students’ academic and personal development, maintaining high expectations for behavior and achievement.
Oversee student discipline, ensuring consistent and equitable practices aligned with school policies.
Community Engagement
Build and sustain strong relationships with students, families, faculty, and the broader community.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding school programs, policies, and expectations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education and Experience
Master’s degree required in Educational Leadership or a related field.
At least five years of leadership experience in education, including classroom teaching.
Experience in independent schools preferred.
