Provides schoolwide psychological and guidance services to the student population PK - 5th Grades, focusing on psychoeducational assessments to those students who may need formal testing in order to maximize their academic success.
Essential Job Functions:
Coordinates the psychological assessment and academic testing services of the school with the Director and in conjunction with Lower School administrators and teachers.
Upon referral from teachers, counselors and parents, meets with individuals: A. Intakes to elicit individual needs and presenting problems. B. Outlines a course of psychoeducational assessment utilizing all available resources both within and without the University community. C. Implements such assessment and provide all necessary reports to promote classroom instruction and maximize academic success.
Coordinates and implements psychoeducational assessment in order to plan instructionally, socially and physically.
Provides consultative services to faculty, staff, and parents in order to support the on-going efforts of classroom instruction and coordinates such efforts with psychoeducational recommendations.
Maintains regular contact with teachers and administrators regarding the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
Responds to faculty requests for assistance in dealing with the special needs or concerns of specialized academic populations.
Conducts regular and on going scientific research on special needs populations with emphasis on developing teaching strategies and curriculum plans designed to maximize academic success.
Maintains complete confidential records for all students involved in the psychoeducational process, CST and other specialized program interventions.
Provides educational seminars of concern to parents upon request.
Assists in the planning and implementation of transition programs between all grade levels.
Participates in admissions, CST and other related enrollment, or re-enrollment procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned or required
Minimum three (3) years' experience in guidance, counseling or related field
