Trinity Valley School seeks a full-time French teacher to join the Upper School faculty beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.
The World Languages Department at Trinity Valley School
The world languages department at Trinity Valley School seeks applicants who bring passion for teaching; eagerness to build meaningful, caring relationships with adolescents; and enthusiasm for professional collaboration, learning and growth.
The department is a team of creative instructional designers who utilize a range of pedagogical techniques designed to further develop students as intelligent citizens who think critically and analytically about the acquisition and use of the target language. Additionally, they prioritize the contextualization of the language within the societies and cultures where it originated and is used.
TVS graduation requirements stipulate that all students must complete at least three years of study in the same language (chosen from among Chinese, French, Latin, and Spanish) during the four years of high school, successfully completing at least the third level. Teachers must be adept at teaching across levels and have the goal of instilling a love and passion for language acquisition.
Trinity Valley School appreciates that teaching excellence comes in many forms. Above all, the school seeks candidates who love working with young people and place students at the heart of their instructional practice. TVS welcomes candidates who are both comfortable serving as advisors to groups of 10-12 Upper School students and willing to engage in campus life through coaching, volunteering with Trojan Outdoor Experience (TOE), leading students on Trojans Abroad Programs, and/or sponsoring co-curricular clubs and programs.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements
The ideal candidate:
Holds a master's degree in French or a related field (master’s preferred; not required) or be a native speaker with similar or related credentials.
Has teaching experience in French, ideally in independent schools.
Has the ability to teach any level of high school French required.
Has experience and interest in developing innovative uses of technology in the classroom.
Creates and promotes inclusive learning spaces in which all students feel honored, appreciated, and respected for who they are.
Nurtures a deep feeling of community through actions and attitudes.
