VCS seeks to hire full-time Kindergarten and First Grade Assistant Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time, 10-month position that begins on August 25, 2025. Salary Range $50,000-$55,000 per year.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Head Teacher in creating and maintaining an inclusive learning environment that is conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Assist the Head Teacher in creating and teaching actively engaging and motivating social studies, ELA and math lessons to students from all abilities.
Meet regularly with the Head Teacher to receive feedback and mentorship.
Collaborate with the Head Teacher to monitor, assess, and document students’ academic progress.
Assist the Head Teacher in communicating standards, achievements, and areas of concern to students and parents.
Participate in monthly Assistant Teacher Program meetings and other professional development related to teacher training on topics such as child development, classroom management, and working with parents.
Transition students to and from Specials classes (art, music, shop, P.E. etc.).
Supervise Lunch & Recess.
Attend grade level meetings, staff meetings.
Collaborate with school administrators, other teachers and staff, parents, and community members in the education of the students.
