Assistant Teacher 2025-2026 VCS
VCS seeks to hire full-time Kindergarten and First Grade Assistant Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time, 10-month position that begins on August 25, 2025. Salary Range $50,000-$55,000 per year.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Head Teacher in creating and maintaining an inclusive learning environment that is conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Assist the Head Teacher in creating and teaching actively engaging and motivating social studies, ELA and math lessons to students from all abilities.
- Meet regularly with the Head Teacher to receive feedback and mentorship.
- Collaborate with the Head Teacher to monitor, assess, and document students’ academic progress.
- Assist the Head Teacher in communicating standards, achievements, and areas of concern to students and parents.
- Participate in monthly Assistant Teacher Program meetings and other professional development related to teacher training on topics such as child development, classroom management, and working with parents.
- Transition students to and from Specials classes (art, music, shop, P.E. etc.).
- Supervise Lunch & Recess.
- Attend grade level meetings, staff meetings.
- Collaborate with school administrators, other teachers and staff, parents, and community members in the education of the students.
