The Development Manager will be a passionate advocate for the Echo Horizon School community of learners and will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy and building a culture of philanthropy to increase Annual Fund support. The Development Manager will take the lead on producing key fundraising and all school special events and will serve as the school liaison to the Parent Association. This position serves as a member of the School’s Advancement team.
*We will consider candidates for a four day a week (80%) position or for a 5 day a week (100%) position
Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with the Head of School, Board of Trustees and Development Committee to develop long and short-term fundraising strategies and to achieve Board support for fundraising.
Develops a fundraising program designed to generate maximum monetary support possible through the management of our annual fund, stewardship, and donor events.
Serves as the lead manager of the Echo Horizon Fund. This includes all activities that will lead to the achievement of our annual fund goal.
Prepares a yearly Development and Annual Fund plan, monitors progress against goals, and produces monthly reports. Report 7x annually to the Board of Trustees on progress towards goals.
Serve as a contributing member of the School’s Advancement Team and Parent Association Leadership Team.
With the collaboration of the Head of School and Advancement Team support parent volunteer efforts and PA Leadership events.
Communicates effectively with the community through the writing of solicitation letters, creation of video content, and thank you notes. Designs high quality appeals.
Work collaboratively with the Head of School and Advancement Team to provide research and prospecting documents to support donor outreach.
Build and steward trusting relationships with the Board, the Parent Association and all donors.
Oversee all reporting and information management relative to Annual Fund, Spring Gala and fundraising as a whole.
Ensure the donor database in Veracross is well maintained and accurate, ensuring prompt reporting of Annual Fund and other donations. Work with the Business Office and Veracross to conform all new information entered into Veracross with the school’s data entry protocols.
Ensure the donor database in Greater Giving or other event support database is well maintained and accurate, ensuring prompt reporting of Spring Gala donations. Accurately and completely transfer donation information from Greater Giving or other event support database into the overall donor database in Veracross.
Work collaboratively with the Business Office to ensure that the overall donor database in Veracross reconciles with the General Ledger in Quickbooks. Assist the Business Office in the preparation of development-related requests for the annual financial statement audit.

Qualifications
Proven track record of raising funds and building relationships. Minimum of 4 years of Development experience with an emphasis on individual giving.
Demonstrated leadership with strategic, policy, and budget planning experience.
Strong supervisory skills.
Excellent understanding of principles and techniques of development activities
Experience in the design and implementation of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for prospects.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, networking, facilitation and management skills; work both independently and within a team-oriented structure. Work in strong collaboration with the Communications and Marketing Team and the Admission Team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and effective communication with diverse audiences, including the ability to speak persuasively.
Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset and approach, including solutions to complex issues. Exercise good judgment and decision making. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to reason, think creatively, and problem solve;
