Our fast-growing international bilingual school in Hoboken, NJ, a few minutes from downtown Manhattan, seeks a passionate and dedicated Mandarin Kindergarten Lead Teacher for our 80-20 immersion program. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Mandarin speaker to join our dynamic team and contribute to a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. The Lead Teacher will plan and implement engaging lessons, provide individualized support, and collaborate closely with colleagues and supervisors. This role offers the chance to gain experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum framework and be part of a vibrant community in the New York City area. Assistant teachers may support the Lead Teacher.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with the IB curriculum framework and foster a love of learning in young children.
• Utilize various instructional and assessment methods to meet the diverse needs of all learners in the classroom.
• Monitor and document each student's academic, personal, emotional, and social progress.
• Establish and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes effective learning.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues, both formally and informally.
• Prepare adequately for any absences and ensure smooth classroom operation.
• Fulfill administrative tasks, including accurate and timely attendance records and lesson planning.
• Actively pursue professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Contribute to the school's mission and values.
• Foster a climate of respect and understanding among faculty, staff, students, and parents.

Qualifications:

• Native Mandarin speaker or fully bilingual and literate in Mandarin and English.
• Authorized to work in the United States or eligible for a J-1 teaching visa (Bachelor's degree + minimum of 2 years recent teaching experience).
• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education
• 2-3 years of experience teaching Mandarin to young children is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Positive attitude and a commitment to creating a nurturing learning environment.
• Experience in an international school setting and/or cross-cultural experience is a plus.
• Prior experience with the IB PYP is preferred.
