Faculty, Middle School Spanish Begins August 2025
Job Summary: The Pembroke Hill School is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach 5 sections of Spanish for the 2025-26 school year. Our premier Spanish program starts in the Early Childhood division and progresses through the Middle and Upper Schools to the Advanced Placement level. Pembroke Hill is committed to a culturally competent education.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach all levels of middle school Spanish, from introductory to Spanish II
The ability and desire to be a leader among teachers for the improvement of the ongoing development of the middle school Foreign Language curriculum and overall advancement of the school.
An understanding of teaching effectively in block periods, including appropriate use of differentiation and technology.
Communicate thoughtfully with students, colleagues, parents, and various community members.
Establish a classroom environment conducive to student learning and achievement.
Collaborate and work cooperatively with all language teachers within the department and other divisions to ensure proper implementation of the curriculum.
Schedule: Teaching positions are based on the school year (August through May). During the school year, there are three school vacations – one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks in December, and two weeks in March – plus holidays, personal and sick days.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, education, or a closely related field required
Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably with middle school students.
Native or near-native fluency in the Spanish language in all four skill areas: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Technologically savvy. Proven comfort in educational technology tools.
Demonstrated success with different adolescent needs across grades 6-8.
Exhibits an abiding passion and experience working with a diverse student body.
