Position Purpose / Summary
At FXW, our Auxiliary Programs offer students opportunities to expand their social skills and learn while participating in a variety of activities. Most after-school enrichment programs are offered by teachers that often support their given talents such as Art, Creativity, and Literature. The Director of Auxiliary Programs is responsible for all aspects of operating and coordinating the Summer, After-School Programs, and Closed School Day. This position reports to the Head of School.
Essential Function
Maintain and expand Summer, After School Programs Virtual, and Closed School Day programs, including Clubs, Music, Tutoring, Test Prep, Chess, Sports Camps and Programs, and After School Specialty and Academic Enrichment Programs. Rental of facilities during downtime is also encouraged by coordinating with the Directors of Facilities, Security, and Athletics, if applicable.
Assess and enhance current programs and develop new programs, including market research and working with curriculum staff to determine programs that will meet the needs of families and the school’s mission.
Assess and enhance tracking of students in the school to ensure school’s safety goals are being met.
Work with the CFO and Controller to plan and coordinate program budgets.
Monitor all program revenue and expenses on a monthly basis and inform Finance of any anticipated variances.
Work with Director of Advancement and school administrative/front offices to organize and coordinate marketing and branding of the programs, which includes, but is not limited to advertisement opportunities, brochures and web page information.
Oversee ordering supplies, snacks and managing inventory thereof.
Oversee program registration and processing and automation of all forms including confirmation letters through the front office and finance office and enhance process as needed.
Respond in a timely fashion to all program inquiries regarding the programs.
Work with the finance office to ensure coordination of registration, billing and the collection of payments and deposits.
Ensure attendance is being tracked correctly.
Plan and coordinate the recruitment of program participants.
Work with Human Resources to administer recruitment, interview and hire program employees, ensuring compliance with school recruiting and hiring policies (including assuring Background Checks/VIRTUS Training).
Administer the performance evaluations of program employees, ensuring compliance with school evaluation protocol.
Work with Facilities and Security departments to ensure that all program staff are trained in health and safety policies as appropriate.
Oversee program contracts including those with off-campus organizations and forward contracts to the finance office for approval.
Handle the processing of all check requests and invoices with the finance office.
Maintain program database.
Prepare appropriate summary reports for the finance office, including enrollment and staffing.
On-campus supervision of day-to-day aspects of all in-house camps and programs.
Compensation and Benefits
FXW offers a competitive salary and robust benefits program, commensurate with experience and consistent with independent schools.
Expected compensation for this role includes a salary within the range of $65,000 - $109,000.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in education or a related field is preferred, but not required
Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, can be obtained after hiring

An ability to communicate effectively with parents, students and visitors in person, by telephone, or electronic communication.
Must demonstrate competency with basic word and data processing and internet functions, as well as all applications used in the regular functioning of the school.
Effective interface with diverse groups; effective supervisory skills; good judgment and decision-making skills. Must have the ability to develop strong relationships with other managers and administrators to build trust and confidence in human resources.
Must be able to motivate others and develop and direct employees as they work.
Ability to handle emergency situations, fire drills, and communications as necessary or appropriate for the safety of the students and school.
