Position Description
The Churchill School & Center, aK-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, is seeking a Lower School Executive Function Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. The Lower School Executive Function Specialist will support both students and professionals while collaborating closely with the following members of the Lower School: Division Directors, Related Service Providers, Upper School Executive Function Specialist, and Special Educators to serve as an expert in monitoring our students’ developing executive function skills. In this position, the Executive Function Specialist will develop and oversee programming related to executive functioning, teach classes, and provide professional development to faculty members while being responsible for ensuring the following essential duties and responsibilities are executed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and modify (as needed) effective programming to support students’ executive function skills in order to improve their overall academic and social/emotional school experience
Provide ongoing professional development to Lower School professionals
Educate families about the various learning styles of our students and provide opportunities for them to learn how to support their students at home
Seek out and engage in ongoing training opportunities when researching new and effective programs that will support our students’ needs
Support students in EF skill development, including, but not limited to:
Time management
Goal setting
Effective study habits
Material organization
Exercising flexible thinking and problem solving
Serve as a resource to homeroom teachers and provide guidance, help problem solve, and brainstorm solutions for specific student needs
Demonstrate leadership by embracing the direction and mission of the school
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have...
Five or more years serving as a head teacher, specialist or related service provider
Training and experience in classroom implementation of programs such as SMARTS and EmPOWER
Experience working with a variety of age levels, ranging from 5 years - 12 years of age
History of a demonstrated willingness and ability to take initiative
Strategic practitioner with experience mentoring other professionals
Strong organizational and collaborative skills
Compensation
$78K - $90K commensurate upon experience
