Position Description:
Trinity Valley School seeks a full-time mathematics teacher to join the Upper School faculty beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.

The mathematics department at Trinity Valley School seeks applicants who bring passion for teaching mathematics; eagerness to build meaningful, caring relationships with adolescents; and enthusiasm for professional learning and growth.
TVS welcomes candidates who are capable and comfortable teaching mathematics courses across the Upper School curriculum. The position will include teaching five sections and could span from Algebra 1 through AP Calculus BC, with potential opportunities to teach AP Statistics and Quantitative Reasoning, depending on the expertise and experience of the hired candidate within the context of the broader department. Experience and qualifications in a wide range of high school mathematics courses are desirable. Mathematics teachers at TVS are highly encouraged to integrate technology and real-world applications into their teaching. The ideal candidate should foster students' ability to explore mathematics graphically, numerically, analytically, and verbally using a multi-representational approach.

Above all, the school seeks candidates who love working with young people and place students at the heart of their instructional practice. TVS welcomes candidates who are both comfortable serving as advisors to groups of 10-12 Upper School students and willing to engage in campus life through coaching, volunteering with Trojan Outdoor Experience (TOE), leading students on Trojans Abroad Programs, and/or directing co-curricular clubs and programs. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to work collegially with other members of the department.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:
Hold a master's degree in mathematics or related field (master’s preferred; not required).
Have teaching experience in mathematics, ideally in independent schools.
Have the flexibility to teach across the mathematics curriculum (9-12).
Have experience and interest in designing innovative approaches to teaching and learning in the mathematics classroom.
Create and promote inclusive learning spaces in which all students feel safe, honored, appreciated, and respected for who they are.
Nurture a deep feeling of community through actions and attitudes.
Balance caring and flexibility while holding students to high expectations.
Exemplify personal and professional integrity.
