The Wellington School is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Lead Fourth Grade Teacher with strong content knowledge in mathematics, reading and writing, and social studies.
Key responsibilities and duties of the role
Plan and implement engaging, differentiated lessons that challenge and support students.
Deliver high-quality instruction in math, reading, writing, and social studies, aligned with best practices. Knowledge of the Singapore Mathematics approach and the Science of Reading will strengthen a candidate’s application.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, ensuring all students are appropriately challenged.
Collaborate regularly with grade-level teams to plan curriculum, set goals, and enhance student learning.
Foster a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, problem-solving, and a growth mindset.
Engage students in activities that support their social-emotional development. Responsive Classroom training
Communicate proactively and effectively with parents, forming strong partnerships to support student learning.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
Provide regular feedback (both written and verbal) to students and parents.
Maintain accurate records and meet all deadlines for student reports, parent communications, and professional requirements.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Valid Ohio teaching certification or eligibility to apply.
Previous experience as a lead teacher in an elementary educational setting, ideally with independent schools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
A passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, sit, and engage in classroom activities for extended periods.
Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
Work environment is generally a moderate noise level, typical of a school setting.
