Job Summary:
BB&N is seeking Summer Camp Activities Counselors for Summer Camp 2025. The Activities Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for creating, planning, and leading a variety of fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities for campers throughout the summer. The counselor will work closely with other group counselors to ensure a positive, safe, and exciting camp experience for all participants. Responsibilities include leading games, arts and crafts, sports, team-building exercises, and other recreational activities. The Activities Counselor will foster teamwork, encourage participation, and ensure that each camper’s needs are met, all while providing a supportive and inclusive environment. We work hard, have fun, and we are positive role models for our campers. Candidates must be dedicated, responsible, and eager to make everyday fun at camp.
Our Activities Counselors provide our campers with the opportunity to experience and learn things they may not have before. Activities at Summer @ BB&N consist of the following:
Plan kid-friendly activities with clear instructions and positive enthusiasm. This role encourages young campers to explore their 5 senses with games and activities.
In addition, Activities Counselors are expected to be committed to the following:
Participate in developing and implementing high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for campers within BB&N’s mission.
Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers and staff. Ensuring the site's cleanliness and adhering to all safety guidelines associated with the camp program.
Positively represent the camp when interacting with parents or community members. Be a role model to campers and staff in attitude and behavior.
Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, dietary restrictions/allergies, and daily attendance.
Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate should have some experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field.
In addition, the candidate:
Must be 17 years of age
Must be available for training sessions on the nights of June 10th, 11th, and 12th.
Education and First AID and CPR certification, preferred

Physical Requirements:
Some physical requirements of a general Counselor position could be endurance including prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, hiking, climbing, and stretching; requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate outdoor equipment and camp activities; requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs.
