Sacramento Country Day School, the regional leader in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade independent school education since 1964, seeks a full-time Fourth-Grade Teacher to add to our excellent faculty.
This is a full-time position with benefits (100% employer paid medical, dental and vision for employee only), beginning August 16, 2025. The salary range is $52,000 to $100,000 depending on education and years of experience. Country Day School embraces the ideals of a liberal arts education. The position requires the candidate to:
Co-plan classroom lessons with the fourth-grade partner
Deliver daily lessons
Supervise students during yard and car duties (dismissal)
Conduct educational assessments
Write quarterly report cards
Meet with families at parent-teacher conferences and Back-to-School Night and Spring Showcase
Communicate with families by using a bi-weekly class newsletter
Communicate with and meet with families to discuss their child as needed
Facilitate field trips including one overnight field trip
Attend monthly faculty meetings
Engage in professional development in all curricular areas, in Responsive Classroom training, etc.
Proficient in Google Classroom is a plus

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, advanced degrees in education and teaching credential is preferred
At least three years of lead teaching experience
Success working with children in a classroom setting
Patience, kindness, and an overtly warm manner with children
Ability to set boundaries with children in a firm but loving way
Ability to support (assist) the social-emotional growth of students and support problem-solving and conflict resolution
Investment in diverse and inclusive curriculums, connections with students, and families
School requirements include: Background check, First Aid/CPR training (school sponsored), negative TB result.
