The Hun School of Princeton, a college preparatory boarding/day school located in Princeton, New Jersey, seeks an innovative and engaging leader as its next Associate Head of Upper School. The Associate Head will work closely with the Head of Upper School, the Grade Level Deans, the Associate Deans of Students, and the Dean of Faculty to lead a thriving division of 550 students and 90 teachers and staff.
Responsibilities include:
Leading the design and implementation of programs for the personal, intellectual, and ethical development of each student including all student leadership programming in collaboration with the Upper School Head, Associate Deans of Students, Counseling and Wellness Department, Director of Equity, Inclusion and Global Diversity, and Grade Level Deans;
Supervising the Associate Deans of Students to lead a character-based and relational Discipline and Honor Code that inspires student growth and faculty support and collaboration;
Developing and supervising academic support and recognition programs for students, in collaboration with the Upper School Head, Associate Deans of Students, Grade Level Deans, the Director of Academic Support Services, and the Counseling and Wellness Department;
Assisting the Upper School Head with the development, coordination and implementation of wide-ranging academic programs;
Assisting the Upper School Head and Dean of Faculty with faculty professional development, mentoring, evaluations, and hiring;
Maintaining the Upper School Student-Parent Handbook in collaboration with the Upper School Head;
Serving on the Upper School Council, Student Support Team, and Academic Leadership Team;
Teaching one academic class in the Upper School each trimester.
Qualifications:
Prior teaching and leadership experience in an independent school are required. In addition, the successful candidate will exhibit the following skills and qualities:
A bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred;
A vision for preparing students to thrive in a world of constant change, encompassing a global perspective, character and skills development, and a sustaining love of learning;
A collaborative and respectful approach in working with all school constituencies.
Spirited and visible engagement in the broad opportunities offered by a lively school culture;
Demonstrated communication, organization, and management skills.

Excellent technology skills and experience integrating technology into the curriculum;
Familiarity or experience with online instruction including the use of Zoom meeting technology.
