Physical Education, Wellness and Health Instructor- Middle School Grades 6-8 Begins August 2025
Job Summary: Pembroke Hill is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education & Health Teacher to join our middle school team. This position plays a crucial role in promoting lifelong health, wellness, and fitness among students in grades 6-8.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging PE and health/wellness curricula.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Teach fundamental movement skills, team sports, personal fitness, and health education topics such as nutrition, mental health, and overall wellness.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support skill development.
Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive social interactions among students.
Maintain a safe and organized learning environment, including proper use of equipment and facilities.
Athletic coaching is a requirement of this position.
Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons.
Track and maintain workouts for upper school students. Create an engaging environment to encourage sessions.
Partner with other middle and upper school teachers and coaches to create the best programming and experience for students.
Schedule: Teaching positions are based on the school year (August through May). During the school year, there are three school vacations – one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks in December, and two weeks in March – plus holidays, personal and sick days. This position requires athletic coaching in a minimum of one season that requires after school and weekend work.
Compensation: Compensation will be based on a competitive norm influenced by area and peer schools, using years of teaching experience and the highest completed degree. Transcripts and verification of employment will be required. Work in a variety of settings, Indoor and outdoor settings, including gymnasiums, fields, and classrooms.
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.

Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors, and on the telephone
Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone
Physical ability to lift, carry and/or hold up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height
Frequent movement with the ability to occasionally balance, reach, bend, squat, stoop, or kneel
Ability to climb stairs, walk, and occasionally run

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field
Experience teaching middle school students, preferred
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and engage students
Commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for all students
Excellent technology, communication, and collaboration skills
