We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Grade School Substitute Teachers (for Early Childhood and/or Grades 1st - 8th Grade) who are passionate about education. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, nurturing, and capable of maintaining the classroom's flow while adhering to the values and philosophy of Waldorf education.

Responsibilities Include:
Provide instruction and maintain the classroom environment as outlined in the lesson plans provided by the primary teacher.
Foster a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere for students
Maintain a sense of continuity and stability within the classroom
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration
Manage classroom behavior in a positive and respectful manner
Qualifications:
Waldorf Teacher Training completed - preferred
Enthusiasm and Flexibility
Early Childhood and/or Grade School Teaching experience preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to adapt to various teaching environments and grade levels
TB Assessment and Livescan Fingerprinting required

Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold

San Francisco Waldorf School (SFWS) is an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian school providing education from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school is fully accredited by the Western Association of Colleges and Schools (WASC) and by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). SFWS was established in 1979 with the purpose of bringing the 100-year old international Waldorf school movement to San Francisco. SFWS now has over 400 students in grades K though 12 on two campuses including its new “green” high school campus (LEED Gold certification pending). In addition, the school supports a nursery program and early childhood classes for parents and children.
