Position Overview:
Seacrest is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and growth-oriented Director of Athletics to join our community. The ideal candidate will be a skilled administrator with a strong commitment to fostering a cohesive and thriving athletic program. This individual will demonstrate exceptional leadership, effective communication, and the ability to engage with all members of the community. A background in coaching, along with the expertise to identify, hire, develop, and retain high-quality coaches, is essential for success in this leadership role.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment, retention, and mentoring of coaching staff
Ensure all coaches are performing their duties at the highest level of professionalism and are committed to student-athlete success
Develop and implement athletic programs that promote student-athlete and team success
Capacity to instill school spirit around athletics programs, including student, parent, and faculty participation
Oversee the day-to-day operations and organization of all athletic programs and formulate the vision and execution to move the program forward
Deliver athletic and recreational opportunities to students with varying interests, skills, and age levels; promote student-athlete development & high academic achievement
Oversee athletic budget and athletic facilities
Collaborate with all constituencies to ensure the athletic program objectives are aligned with the school’s mission, values, and culture
Strong communication with the leadership and other department heads, such as counselors, college counselor, learning support, and dean of students, to ensure student-athletes are supported in academics, athletics, and their overall health and wellbeing
Ensure effective communication and build mutual understanding between leadership, coaches, faculty and student-athletes
Qualifications:
A. in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience in athletic administration or coaching
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for events
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
