Princeton Montessori School is a co-educational independent school serving over 220 students from infancy through 8th grade. With over 50 years of excellence in Montessori education, our 21-acre campus provides a dynamic and inspiring environment where students develop independence, critical thinking skills, and a lifelong love of learning. We are fully accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and Middle States, ensuring a high-quality, authentic Montessori experience for our students. Our Middle School program is built on the core principles of Montessori education and is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). Key Responsibilities
As Director of Education, you will work directly with the Head of School and play an essential role in maintaining the academic integrity of our Montessori programs while fostering a culture of continuous growth and excellence. Responsibilities include:
Academic Leadership & Curriculum Oversight
Ensure the academic integrity and alignment of Montessori programs across all levels.
Ensure scope and sequence documents are in alignment with AMS Accreditation Standards
Support and mentor teachers in curriculum development, lesson planning, and best practices.
Oversee student progress to maintain high educational standards.
Review all student records and progress reports and ensure consistency and completion across all levels.
Lead faculty meetings, professional development initiatives, and instructional coaching.
Faculty Support & Community Engagement
Provide guidance and mentorship to teachers, fostering professional growth and excellence.
Regularly observe faculty and provide feedback on their performance.
Meet regularly with lead teachers to provide feedback on their efficacy.
Collaborate with the leadership team on school-wide initiatives and policies.
Serve as a resource for parents, supporting positive partnerships between home and school.
Participate in the hiring, onboarding, and evaluation of faculty.

Uphold and model Montessori values in all aspects of school leadership.
Adhere to the AMS Code of Ethics in all areas of responsibility.
Support a culture of respect, independence, and joyful learning among students and staff.
Work collaboratively with administration to enhance the school's mission and vision.
