Hill Top Prep is seeking an outstanding Business Manager to join its Senior Administrative Team – July 1, 2025. The Business Manager will oversee the business and human services operations, ensure compliance with government regulations, and manage all school finances. Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Responsibilities and Duties -Manage all school finances including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and prepare financial reports -Financial Management and Reporting Work with Head of School (HOS) and Board of Trustee Finance Committee to create annual budget and long term planning -Provide timely, relevant and accurate fiscal information -Be prepared to plan, coordinate, lead, and provide follow-up for finance committee meetings -Oversee the annual audit process and issuance of the 990 filing -Oversee and manage all aspects of payroll and staff benefits including evaluating insurances -Manage and track fundraising and revenue stream effort -Manage financial aid -Oversee school expenditure process -Establish internal controls and procedures -Assist in analysis of current and future programs -Oversee insurance policies and audits for property, workman’s compensation, liability and director’s liability
Regulatory Compliance -Stay informed of regulatory issues as pertains to the school -Ensure policies and practices align to regulatory requirements -Ensure record-keeping complies with regulations -Prepare and file government reports accurately and on time
Human Resources -Supervise part-time Human Services Coordinator -Collaborate with HOS to establish wage and benefit objectives within the approved budget that are equitable and consistent -Continuously update Employee Handbook to align to legislative requirements and policy updates -Manage staff personnel records with HR
Expectations -Maintain confidentiality in all relationships -Support and uphold the policies of the school to families, faculty and the public -Conduct self in manner to promote a positive organizational culture and effective staff relations -Attend school events as required -Handle regular communications with students and families including questions and concerns -Offer assistance to HOS in administrative capacity Perform other responsibilities as required
Qualifications -Degree in Accounting, Finance, Non-Profit Management, or Business Management/Administration -Strong financial and accounting expertise -Ability to identify priorities when developing budgets -A working knowledge of QuickBooks would be a plus -Strong communication and problem-solving skills -Experience in not-for-profit preferred -Experience in a school environment preferred -Human resources experience is preferred -Respect and appreciation for learning differences -Clear background check and all PA school clearances
