Job Title: Mathematics Teacher

Reports to: Academic Dean 

Job Summary

Scattergood Friends School and Farm seeks an energetic teacher of Mathematics interested in progressive education.  The position starts in August 2025.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach three math courses (Or two math courses and one computer science course)
• Plan and deliver instruction, as well as measure and report progress to facilitate student development. 
• Develop a curriculum that stimulates student curiosity, and helps them get excited about math. 
• Teachers are expected to have frequent communication with students and school staff in ways that nurture a healthy learning experience for students. 

Other Duties

• Attend regular meetings, including Staff Meetings, Community Meetings, and Meetings for Worship.
• Serve as a Crew Leader
• Model the values of Scattergood Friends School
• All full-time teachers also assume some of the following additional duties to contribute to the community: leading crew and trips, dorm sponsoring, general supervision, and/or teaching elective courses. 

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher degree in a related field. 
• Secondary Teaching experience (preferred)
• Qualified teaching candidates should have an understanding of inquiry-based or project-based learning.
• Proficiency with Google Suite.
