Reporting: The Director of Campus Ministry reports directly to the Principal.
Expected start date: August 15, 2025
Role:The Director of Campus Ministry is responsible for the student faith formation program of the school and the promotion of the school’s Ignatian identity, also assisting the Principal with the faculty/staff Ignatian formation program as needed. Specifically, the Director of Campus Ministry is responsible for the following:
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRAYER AND SACRAMENT
Coordinates all liturgies; identifies presiders and student liturgical ministers; prepares worship aids;
Prepares students to serve as leaders of prayer, as lectors, as altar servers, and as Eucharistic Ministers;
Provides mentors with prayer suggestions/resources for mentor periods as needed;
Coordinates the weekly practice of the Examen; prepares/selects Examen texts;
Prepares prayers for faculty and student opening orientation; presides at the Freshman Orientation Prayer Service;
Writes and presides at Advent and Lenten Reconciliation Services; invites confessors; prepares worship aids;
Coordinates assembly prayer services (Season of Creation; Grad at Grad; Jesuit Martyrs of El Salvador; Holy Thursday; and other events/anniversaries as appropriate)
Serves as the school’s liaison to the Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN); coordinates participation in the Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice and the Arrupe Leaders Summit;
Encourages students (in formal and informal settings) to strive to find God in all things; serves as a resource on issues of Ignatian spirituality for students and faculty/staff
FAITH AND JUSTICE
Supervises the Christian Service Program;
Meets regularly with and supervises the Christian Service Director;
Works with the Christian Service Director to develop reflection classes; teaches Christian Service classes as assigned by the Principal;
Observes Christian Service classes;
Reads Christian Service reflection papers submitted by students in all grades;
Consults with the Christian Service Director in the selection of service trip locations and in preparation for all service trips; assists in recruiting students for trips as necessary; participates in at least one service trip each year; evaluates all trips with the Service Director
ADULT FAITH FORMATION
Prepares prayers for faculty meetings;
Coordinates the Faculty-Staff retreat;
Assists the Principal as needed with Ignatian Formation programs for faculty and staff;
Provides prayer and retreat resources for faculty and staff;
Coordinates the school’s Advent reflection series.
OTHER
Represents the school at Province, JSN, and Diocesan meetings;
Teaches at least one academic class, as assigned by the Principal;
Serves as a member of the Large Group Student Life Team;
Provides pastoral counseling to students as needed; makes appropriate referrals to the Guidance department;
Serves as liaison with the Province for vocations promotion;
Coordinates interfaith prayer services and programs as appropriate
Oversees maintenance of the school chapel;
In consultation with the Principal, sets the Campus Ministry calendar and budget for the year;
Attends all grade-level meetings;
Reviews sophomore and senior interview letters and provides an overview for the Principal;
Attends meetings of the Theology Department as the schedule permits;
Prepares and monitors the Retreat, Liturgy, and Campus Ministry budgets;
Makes a personal 5- or 8-day retreat once every 3 years.
