An ideal full-time Middle School Mathematics teacheris dynamic, has the ability to teach all levels of mathematics courses through Algebra II, and is interested in developing strong problem-solving and communication competencies in students. The teacher will work with our Middle School students in grades 5 through 8. 

Essential Functions

• Inspire, engage, and encourage students in the study of Mathematics
• Serve as an advisor; contribute to the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth of adolescents
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate math into other subject areas
• Work collaboratively with colleagues both inside and outside the Math department
• Express a clear interest in becoming an active member of the McDonogh community by participating in school activities and working with students outside of the classroom
• Use professional growth opportunities to continually refine practice
• Respond to the needs of the School, including but not limited to, service learning, coaching, assigned duties, and other areas as determined by the Middle School Head
• Compensation will be offered in the range of $55,000- $75,000. Individual offers will be specific, and based on education, experience, and benchmarking parameters.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and create engaging interdisciplinary units, projects, and/or courses
• Demonstrated expertise regarding the subject matter
• Experience with Google (Docs/Sheets/Apps/Email)
• Experience with interdisciplinary teaching
• Experience working in a student-centered learning environment, with practical experience with problem- and project-based learning, as well as integrated learning
• Looking for a minimum of 2 years experience teaching, preferably in a Middle School.
• Must have an understanding of Google Suite tools, major LMS platforms, and other emerging technologies

• Years of subject matter experience, specifically teaching Math

Working Conditions

Lifting and carrying of equipment is not typical, but may be required on rare occasions. Other working conditions include climbing stairs, walking around campus, sitting, standing, and significant computer use including extensive close use of a computer monitor. Reaching, grasping.
