Position Summary:

This fellowship offers a blend of hands-on experience learning and participating in student admission recruitment and the exciting opportunity to directly support and mentor our college-bound athletes as a coach. The fellow will assist with interviewing prospective students, travel, review files, and manage event-based projects that support the recruitment of mission-appropriate students for Hotchkiss. Moreover, the fellow will serve a meaningful role in athletics, supporting one or more high-priority teams where your prior experience in teamwork, communication, administration, and athletics will have a direct impact on recruitment, training, and coaching college-bound athletes.

Key Admission Responsibilities:
General admission responsibilities include conducting interviews with prospective students and families; reviewing files and evaluating candidates; being an ambassador and representative of the School, leading informational sessions for prospective families and targeted recruitment travel, for a designated geographic region.
Assist with daily interviews, travel, and file review of applicants to Hotchkiss.
Support the coordination and execution of campus visit programs, information sessions, and open houses.
Work closely with athletics to support recruitment and yield on high-impact athletes.
Assist with outreach and communication efforts, including email campaigns and social media content.
Participate in special projects as assigned by the admissions staff.
General Faculty Responsibilities
Hotchkiss faculty participate actively in all aspects of community life through service in Hotchkiss’ residential, advising, and co-curricular programs. Typical responsibilities of a full-time faculty member at Hotchkiss include administrative responsibilities in Admission, coaching two seasons of a co-curricular team, regular duty in our residential program, and periodic participation in faculty committees and/or as an advisor to student clubs. Full-time faculty members are generally expected to obtain a public service endorsement on their CT driver's license within the first year of employment, so that they may drive students in school vehicles.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in any area is required.
Proven track record as an experienced athlete or coach with demonstrated ability to effectively coach and mentor student-athletes.
Dependable and organized.
Comfortable speaking to diverse audiences.
A desire to support the learning and growth of high school-aged students.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as confidence and clarity in public speaking.
Excellent reading comprehension skills to enable effective processing of a high volume of applications.
Exceptional planning, time management and organization skills.
