We are seeking a full-time Front Desk Manager. This is a high-profile, high-energy position, directly assisting our families, students, teachers, administrators, and staff with a wide variety of needs. The person in this role is the first point of contact for parents when they call/email the school and interfaces regularly with all members of the community.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a school or a similar fast-paced environment. The candidate will be organized, patient, kind, creative, and flexible, with a commitment to supporting others and the daily operations of the school.
Proficiency with technology and the ability to learn different computer and web-based systems for attendance, supply orders, and other relevant tasks is essential. Experience working with Google Suite is preferred.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Managing the front desk
- Answering phone calls and redirecting calls to the appropriate individuals, while serving as the first point of contact for those communicating with the school
- Overseeing and recording student attendance, including issuing late notes and managing early dismissals
- Managing the student and faculty/staff swipe card system
- Sending and sorting mail
- Maintaining school supply inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- Maintaining and ordering all supplies for copiers and printers; troubleshooting and setting up service calls for equipment when necessary
- Assisting during school closings and inclement weather
- Coordinating with bus and transportation companies during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal, as needed
- Securing reservations for buses, as needed, for school trips
- Working with other administrative staff, as needed, on front desk-related items or other relevant tasks
- Working with the school security team to ensure a safe school environment
Desired skills, experience, and education:
- High school diploma; college preferred
- Attention to detail and respect for confidentiality
- Familiarity with Gmail and Google Calendar
- Minimum of three years of experience working in a school or similar setting
- Comfortable working with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members
- Kindness, patience, and a sense of humor
