ABOUT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF BOSTON

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Secondary School Learning Support Coordinator is part of ISB’s vertical Learning Support Team as led by the Department Chair, and dedicated to the Secondary School division under the direction of the Secondary School Director.
The orthopedagogue is responsible for drawing up and implementing adapted and personalized assistance plans and communicating accommodations to the teaching teams. He or she coordinates the assessment or reassessment of pupils by a neuropsychologist or speech therapist, in agreement with the parents, to define an adapted and personalized support plan. The orthopedagogue liaises with tutors or coaches, our school psychologist and anyone else involved in monitoring students' mental health. Requests for special arrangements or accommodations, in particular for the examinations department, are formulated by the families and the remedial teacher, who assists students during examinations in accordance with the arrangements accepted by the examinations committee. The orthopedagogue meets with students on an individual basis, depending on their timetable, but can also intervene in class.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- REQUIRED:
Being bilingual in French and English; having strong English writing skills is a priority.
Possessing a degree in learning differences or a related field.
Ability to read and analyze neuropsychological assessments.
Ability to generate and write individualized learning plans.
Having teaching experience (at least 3 years of classroom experience required).
Experience in developing curriculum and/or educational materials.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Experience working with students with learning differences and knowledge of executive functions.
Strong ability to communicate and work within a learning support team, including with teachers, parents, and administrators.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to show empathy towards students and their parents.
Ability to advocate for students' interests and empower them.
Demonstrated ability and skills to meet core competencies established by the ISB as described above.
Open to professional development.

Ability to generate and write Individualized Learning Plans
