Middle School Math Teacher
The Middle School Math Teacher will teach grades 6-8. We utilize the Illustrative Mathematics problem-based approach, which emphasizes collaborative sense-making and rich opportunities for discourse, as well as building upon the flexible thinking and number sense developed in elementary grades. We expect the new hire to honor student thinking and curiosity as they discover the many patterns that unveil the big ideas of middle school mathematics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement unit plans that reflect sequential learning with differentiated activities based on students’ knowledge and skills.
Use department guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintain records, write report cards accordingly, and host family conferences.
Use CGPS framework for teaching to guide professional practice
Provide meaningful, individualized feedback and support to students.
Collaborate positively and respectfully with members of the Middle School, math department, Learning Resource Center, school administrators, and families.
Responsible for coverage of duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum of three years full-time teaching experience
Valid State Certification is helpful but not required, preferably in middle or secondary math
Proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with families both orally and in writing
WORK HOURS:
7:45 am - 3:15 pm Mon-Fri
Bi-weekly faculty meetings until 4:30 pm
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $71,000.000 -$118,500.00 based on completed degree programs and years of lead teaching experience. We also offer a warm and supportive culture as well as exceptional benefits including but not limited to:
