Overview
The Kew-Forest School is a co-educational independent day school located in Forest Hills, Queens, New York that serves a diverse population of approximately 225 students in Preschool (3-year-olds) through Grade 12. Founded in 1918, Kew-Forest is the longest-serving college preparatory school in Queens. Our community nurtures lifelong learners, our educators inspire young people, and our students support each other.
The School is currently looking for a Girls’ Head Varsity Volleyball Coach for the upcoming Fall season, starting August 18, 2025. The Fall season is scheduled to consist of 12-14 games. (not including playoffs or NYSAIS tournament) Kew-Forest participates in the Private School Athletic Association (PSAA). The season runs from August 19th to the end of October.
Candidates must:
- be available between the hours of 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm for practice and as early as 2:00 pm for travel to away games.
- be available to travel on the bus with student-athletes to away games.
Responsibilities include:
- being responsible for running practices 5 times a week (min 1 hour, max 2 hours each).
- teaching/guiding student-athletes in proper volleyball techniques/strategy.
- remaining open to adding non-league games to the schedule when appropriate.
- communicating with the team, parents, and Athletic Director with any changes/cancellations of practices and games.
- ensuring all student-athletes have means of transportation to and from games.
- attending all volleyball coach meetings led by PSAA (if any).
- providing team updates to the Athletic Director.
- completing all courses required upon hiring (CPR/AED/First aid, concussion certification, etc)
Compensation
- The stipend range for this position is $3,000 - $4,500 based on experience.
