Overview: Canterbury School is seeking a talented and innovative educator to apply for a full-time Mathematics teaching position, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. We are seeking an educator who is committed to student growth, and excited to contribute to a collaborative and forward-thinking department.
Teaching Role: This position is full-time, with a primary focus on teaching Geometry and Algebra 2. We are especially interested in candidates with additional content knowledge that extends across a range of courses such as Algebra 1, Statistics, Precalculus, Data Science, or Computer Science. In the classroom, we want to see a variety of effective pedagogical approaches, adaptable to the needs of the students.
Responsibilities:
Teach a full schedule of math classes (5 sections).
Serve as an advisor to a small group of students through their high school career.
Participate in school communal responsibilities such as proctoring, committee work, and chaperoning field trips or school events.
Participate in professional development in teaching techniques, curriculum collaboration, and technology.
Communicate with administration, teachers, and parents on the status of students to coordinate efforts for student success.
Provide general adult supervision as assigned by the Division Director.
Attend department, faculty, and school meetings.
Adhere to the policies of the faculty handbook.

Strong mathematics content knowledge
Comfort with differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices
A student-centered, data-informed approach to teaching and learning
Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a growth-oriented department culture
Engagement in extracurricular activities and/or athletics is highly desirable
Commitment to developing cultural competency and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in both curriculum and community
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related field (master’s preferred).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with classroom technology, including learning management systems and Google Workspace tools.
