The Quaker School at Horsham (TQS) is seeking a Licensed Social Worker.

The students at TQS in grades K-12 have struggled in traditional schools and come with a pressing need for a safe learning environment where they can confidently face the challenges of learning. These students have a mix of disabilities: ADHD, learning disabilities, autism, expressive and receptive language disorders and anxiety disorders. Position Title: Social Worker, LSW
Status: Full-time, 10 months
Salary: $60, 000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach social development courses in a classroom of 8–10 students with complex needs. Responsibilities include: developing lesson plans, managing student behavior, supporting emotional and academic growth, evaluating student profiles, reporting on progress and establishing classroom routines that promote optimal learning.
- Support students in addressing behavioral and social challenges.
- Identify and reduce barriers to learning to ensure students fully benefit from their educational experience.
- Implement positive behavioral interventions within the classroom setting.
- Coordinate and maintain the S2SS (Safe2Say Something) program by updating team information, managing tip responses, training students and staff, and supporting additional projects as assigned.
- Provide case management for all students across the school.
- Maintain consistent communication with families, staff and external professionals.
- Deliver crisis intervention as needed, including the use of Safety-Care techniques for physical restraint, used only as a last resort.
- Use specialized instructional strategies to support the development of language, cognition, memory and social-emotional skills. Techniques may include project-based learning, multi-sensory instruction, differentiated approaches, and repetition to meet diverse student needs.
- Set and communicate clear learning objectives for all lessons, units and projects, and share them with students and families via the school’s learning management system.
- Monitor student growth through regular assessments, maintaining accurate records including attendance, progress monitoring data, rating forms and checklists. Use this data to inform instruction and prepare weekly or daily communications with families, as required.
- Collaborate with TQS learning community stakeholders to promote and implement social and emotional learning strategies.
Requirements: Master’s degree and license in social work. Clinical License (LCSW) preferred. Master’s degree in School Counseling accepted.
