Position: 6-12 Visual Arts Teacher (IB MYP and DP).

We are committed to hiring diverse and dedicated faculty who are reflective of our student body and Virgin Islands community. Positivity, collaboration, a growth mindset, and desire to meet each learner where they are at is a must.
This position will teach 6th-12th grade MYP and DP Visual Arts courses. Our educators teach four, 72 minute classes, out of a 7 class schedule. Our teachers have access to world-class professional development, job-embedded coaching, and a warm and welcoming community.
Currently we are hiring a full-time VisualArts Teacher for our 6th-10th grade Middle Years Program (MYP) and 11th-12th grade Diploma Program (DP). We need talented, energetic teachers who will put teamwork and student learning as their number one priority at our school. IB experience is preferred but we will train the right applicant. A higher education degree in your area of expertise is required and applicants should have 1 or more years of teaching experience. At this time, we are only able to hire those persons who are able to legally work in the U.S. Only serious inquiries with a true desire to work hard on a dynamic and caring team need apply. You can learn more about our school at www.vimsia.org. Please contact PGIA Director, Bennett Ott, at pgia_director@vimsia.org with any questions.
Virgin Islands Montessori School & Peter Gruber International Academy is a Montessori/IB school with approximately 320 students (toddler through 12th grade) on the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Thomas in the Caribbean. We are a non-profit, independent, private, international school that is looking for quality teachers who have a passion for teaching. Our small school community is one that focuses on a philosophy of "Education for Life" through a true dedication to our core values, our mission statement and our profile of a graduate which aims to create responsible, caring, internationally-minded young people. We pride ourselves on being a green school that is 100% solar powered and always environmentally conscious. We work just as hard on building quality character in our students as we do in building academic skills. Three crucial attributes embody the types of students and staff members we have at our school - passionate about learning, dedicated to service and of the highest integrity/character. All stakeholders (parents, teachers, administrators, board members) at our school have one thing in common - we put learning first. Our tri-accreditation of Association Montessori International (AMI), International Baccalaureate (IB) and Middle States Association (MSA) leads our students to dual high school diplomas after experiencing a detailed academic continuum that focuses on the acquisition of strong academic skills. We have a Spanish Infusion program, as well as focus on Mathematics and Science. Our graduates are attending their first choice, top tier colleges and universities, such as: Harvard, Brown, US Naval Academy, Stanford, Princeton and more.
Minimum 1-year experience. Must be able to legally work in the US.
