PositionSummary Bancroft School seeks a part-time Upper School Biology teacher to join our collaborative and dynamic team of educators starting in August of 2025.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to engage students in meaningful inquiry, problem solving, and collaborative exploration. Developing students’ skills as critical thinkers, self-advocates, positive contributors, and engaged citizens is central to this position. Faculty use creative approaches to teaching and learning. Technological savvy is required as each Upper School student and teacher utilizes personal technology both inside and outside of the classroom.
Science curriculum and assessment is rooted in the NGSS with a focus on scaffolded scientific and inquiry skill development. We seek a collaborative person, ready to work with the Science Department Chair, the Academic Support Team, and the Upper School Division Head to support students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach two sections of Molecular Biology for 10th and 11th graders. This includes all aspects of planning, instruction, and assessment.
Communicate consistently and regularly with students and advisors.
Support a diverse community that is informed, self-reflective, and characterized by respect and careful listening.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field, Master's degree preferred.
Three to five years of teaching experience preferred.
Experience in and enthusiasm for implementing inquiry-based learning.
Proven ability to differentiate instruction.

Compensation & Benefits Bancroft School offers a competitive salary range for this position, determined by the scope of responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational considerations. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including education, experience, skills, expertise, and internal equity. Final salary details, along with a comprehensive benefits package, will be provided upon an employment offer.
