Specific responsibilities for this position include:

• Serve as Spanish teacher for middle school classes
• Develop all four modalities into instruction: reading, writing, speaking and listening
• Employ high-quality, student-centered instruction using evidence-based practices to support all learners’ growth in Spanish language acquisition 
• Assess students’ skills and knowledge to refine classroom practices and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding students’ progress, expectations, and goals
• Create rich learning environment that engages students, develops their understanding, celebrates the cultures in Spanish speaking countries, and cultivates an appreciation of why multilingualism is a critical 21st century skill
• Integrate instructional and recordkeeping strategies using Google Suite, and/or other appropriate technology 
• Create instructional programming that promotes the academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of students in an all-girls school. 
• Be flexible, open-minded, and a self-driven team member
• Serve as an advisor, collaborate with a team of teachers on extracurricular programming, and provide faculty support to a club or activity

Qualifications for this position are:

• Strong understanding of adolescent development, including the social, emotional, and intellectual domains
• Creative, imaginative, and possess a growth-mindset in teaching, coaching, and curricular design
• BA/BS degree in Spanish education or related field, Masters degree preferred
• Knowledge and experience teaching a rigorous Spanish curriculum in order to prepare students to enter grade 9 at Spanish 2 or above. 
• High energy level, creative and forward-thinking 
• Strong work ethic and a caring temperament
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills 
• Collaborative skills, including the ability to work with colleagues and parents
• A sense of humor, warmth, and a love of working with students and their families
