Title: Middle School Math Teacher
Reports To: Head of Middle School
Full-Time, 10-month position
All Saints’ is looking for a middle school math teacher with a passion for working with students, a strong background in mathematics, and a depth of experience in teaching. We value candidates who align with our mission and are passionate about teaching middle school. Candidates value personalized and purposeful learning, relationships with students, and mathematical inquiry.
We place a high value on community and seek candidates with excellent interpersonal skills who work well with students, colleagues, and parents. This full-time position will teach, advise a group of 10–12 students, and collaborate to fulfill our mission of educational excellence.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Dedication to continued expertise and excellence, actively engaging with colleagues to share best practices and promote professional growth.
Create dynamic math lessons that engage, support, and challenge students using a variety of curricula and instructional methods that explicitly teach analytical skills, problem-solving, and application.
Create a positive, student-centered environment that reflects All Saints’ Learning Principles.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify and assess learning outcomes.
Integrate and use technology to enhance student learning and achievement.
Teach an elective aligned with the content area or student interest.
Manage an advisory of 10–12 students.
Facilitate student clubs before, during, and/or after school as needed.
Provide before-school or after-school assistance to students as needed.
Understand and implement Student Success Plans with the support of our Learning Support Services Department.
Build and maintain ongoing, respectful, and proactive communication with parents; schedule meetings as necessary with parents to address concerns.
Participate in field trips and other curriculum-enhancing activities, including field trips which may consist of overnight class trips.
Fulfill student supervision duties as assigned.
Prepare grade reports, progress reports, attendance reports, and other such reports promptly and in accordance with school policy or at the request of the division head.
Execute all duties promptly, attend meetings (during and after school), and participate in committees as directed by the Head of Middle School or Head of School.
Participate in All Saints’ community activities outside of school hours as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, education, or a related field; master’s degree preferred
Education, training, and/or experience in student engagement and differentiation
Successful experience teaching mathematics to middle school students and preferred experience teaching first-year high school algebra and geometry
Ability to integrate technology to transform instruction and student learning
Creativity, passion for the subject matter, and a positive attitude
An appreciation for and an understanding of the social, emotional, educational, and developmental needs of learners ages 10–14
Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
