Upper School Physics Teacher
Major Responsibilities: ? Teach 5 sections, including all levels of Physics. Experience teaching Engineering courses preferred. ? Serve as an advocate for the CFA signature Engineering Certificate Program. Collaborate with colleagues and administration on the execution and evolution of the program. ? Serve as a faculty advisor to 10-12 students. ? Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies with technology to meet the needs of all students. ? Collaborate with staff members to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture. ? Provide tutoring to individual and small student groups as required. ? Sponsor a student club and/or coach an athletic team. ? Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications: ? Teacher should possess experience and knowledge in all levels of upper school Physics, including AP Physics. ? Demonstrated proficiency using technology including online texts, iPads, and computer interface measurements. ? Teacher should have an interest in and ability to contribute to extracurricular activities. ? Commitment to a community that values equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in subject area required; a Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Three or more years of teaching experience at the high school level, preferably in an independent school environment.
