The Director of Development will lead the fundraising function at Frankford Friends School, reporting to, collaborating with, and advising the Head of School and Board of Trustees. In this role, they will create and execute strategies for the FFS Annual Fund, EITC/OSTC solicitation, and major gifts, to include multi-year fundraising plans that focus on retaining donors, expanding the donor base, and increasing gifts. In addition, they will research and prepare grant applications and required stewardship reports for foundations and contribute development content to the School’s website, blog, and publications. The current development program focuses on annual giving, fundraising for financial aid, a spring fundraiser, and targeted outreach via publications, direct mailing, social channels, and occasional one-on-one meetings. Over the next three years, the Director of Development will take the lead in addressing the following opportunities:
Develop and implement appropriate donor recognition programs.
Expand donor participation in Pennsylvania’s EITC and OSTC programs.
Identify top prospects and solicit lead gifts.
Develop, launch, and oversee an alumni program.
Liaise with the Board of Trustees, in particular its development committee, and increase Board member engagement.
Craft and lead campaigns to fund priorities in the strategic plan, which may include a capital campaign.
The Director of Development will collaborate closely with the marketing and communications team and other administrators to ensure consistent messaging of the School’s narrative and to expand and enhance its visibility and reputation across social media, printed communications, and the website. Additionally, they will serve as a leader within the school community, actively participating in daily operations and engaging in hands-on involvement in the school’s activities.
Please view the Opportunity Statement for a full description of the position and requirements.

Over a rich history spanning several centuries, Frankford Friends School has provided a nurturing and inclusive education while instilling Quaker values in its students. A defining characteristic of Frankford Friends School is its commitment to Problem-based Learning, grounded in study of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our signature approach to learning emphasizes hands-on experiences, collaboration, and critical thinking. Students actively engage in projects that allow them to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world challenges, developing problem-solving abilities, creativity, and a sense of ownership over their learning. This prepares them for a future where adaptability and the ability to think outside the box are essential.
The Quaker principles that are the foundation of the school are also the values that guide us in our daily interactions. We believe in fostering an inclusive and respectful environment where every student is valued for who they are. Through community service initiatives, they develop a deep sense of social responsibility for our immediate community and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world. We embrace diversity and celebrate in...dividuality, as we prepare our students to navigate an interconnected world with empathy, understanding, and appreciation for different perspectives.
