School Overview:
Park City Day School is an independent nursery through eighth-grade day school located in the mountain community of Park City, Utah. The School’s mission is to inspire and prepare students to lead great and giving lives and they achieve this through academic excellence, character development, outdoor experiential education and finding joy in learning. Our faculty are dedicated to fostering intellectual curiosity, creativity, and a deep sense of community across all grade levels.
Position Summary:
Park City Day School seeks an experienced, collaborative, and visionary Early School Director to lead the School’s Early Childhood Program beginning July 1, 2026. The Early School Director will oversee all aspects of programming for our youngest learners, including:
An on-site nursery serving the children of faculty and staff
A two-year-old toddler class
A three-year-old preschool class
A four-year-old pre-kindergarten class
This position is a key leadership role within the School and reports directly to the Head of School. The Early School Director is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the Early School, ensuring a nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and mission-aligned educational experience for all students and their families.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and supervision for all Early School faculty and staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, reflection, and continuous improvement.
Oversee curriculum design and implementation that supports inquiry-based, experiential learning consistent with the developmental needs of early learners.
Partner with the Head of School and Leadership Team to ensure alignment of the Early School program with the School’s broader mission and educational philosophy.
Uphold best practices in early childhood education and effectively communicate “the why” to parents and key stakeholders.
Lead and support family engagement through ongoing communication, community events, and parent education.
Collaborate with the Admissions Office in the recruitment, assessment, and enrollment of early childhood students.
Manage budgets, staffing, and scheduling for the Early School program.
Willingness and ability to step into a teaching role when a teacher is out if needed.

Desired Qualifications and Characteristics:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
Minimum of five years of relevant early childhood teaching and/or administrative experience.
Deep understanding of early childhood development and pedagogical approaches.
Experience with a Reggio Emilia–inspired or other constructivist, inquiry-based educational philosophy is highly desirable.
Exceptional leadership, communication, patience and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
