Learning support and student success is an essential component of this vision and strategy. Our next Director, in partnership with school leadership, will help position the CAA as a world-class support program known for its multi-dimensional and student-centered approach.
Summary
Tilton School seeks a dynamic Director (or Interim Director) of Learning Support & Student Success Services, ideally with background in special education, who will lead, manage, and articulate vision for the Center for Academic Achievement (CAA), which provides individualized and/or small group tailored support to students with a variety of learning needs. This individual will work in collaboration with the full CAA team to develop and manage academic programming and resources that help further CAA’s mission in encouraging students to foster a growth mindset and work towards becoming strong self-advocates in navigating their learning experience through skill-based strategies and teaching. The CAA teaches strategies for organizing and prioritizing assignments, managing time, improving study skills through active learning strategies, in addition to providing tutorial support in specific content areas when needed. The Director will foster a positive, structured, and caring environment, while also providing direct support and instruction to identified students, as well as partnering with faculty, families, and outside professionals. This is a 10-month position with occasional Admissions focused collaboration in the summer months. As a residential school, Tilton considers the work of faculty broadly, and we engage with students both during and beyond the academic day. Full-time faculty at Tilton can expect to contribute two seasons in the co-curricular and/or athletic program and to be responsible for weekly evening and monthly weekend supervisory duties. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide vision and leadership for the CAA, supervising three learning specialists and overseeing services for 45+ students.
Assess prospective and current students’ educational histories and evaluations to recommend appropriate support.
Develop, implement, and adapt individualized support plans for students in collaboration with faculty and families.
Deliver direct one-on-one instruction, particularly in language-based learning and executive function skills.
Oversee accommodations for classroom learning and SSD standardized testing coordination (SAT, ACT, AP).
Partner with Admissions, faculty, families, and outside professionals to ensure comprehensive academic support.
Serve as a member of the Academic Committee and Student Support Team.

Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Preferred: Background in special education and/or psychology; experience in residential oversight and/or secondary or post-secondary instruction.
