SUMMARY:
Masters is seeking experienced lacrosse coaches to assist at the middle school, JV and varsity levels of the girls lacrosse program. We are a part of the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS). The ideal candidate will continue to foster excellence through hard work, positivity and enjoyment while building a foundation of trust with athletes, families and the Masters community. They will look to utilize our top-notch facilities, including a turf field, newly renovated strength room and a fully equipped cardio room.
This is a part time position from February 19, 2026 through May 21, 2026 for JV and varsity. For middle school, the position is for March 2, 2026 through to June 3, 2026.
Requires 12 – 20 hours per week in season and out-of-season responsibilities as described below.
Varsity practices are Monday through Friday 3:45-5:45pm with contests during the week and on some Saturdays.
JV practices are Monday through Friday 3:45-5:00pm with contests during the week.
Middle school practices are Monday through Friday 2:35-3:35 with contests during the week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend all program/Department events and meetings
Assist in creating and implementing appropriate practice plans and game strategies for each student-athlete’s stage of development.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and school community members
Effectively communicate with student-athletes, parents and all pertinent constituencies
Provide positive and constructive feedback/coaching during practices and competitions
Implement and adhere to school/Athletics Department/league rules and expectations
Positively represent the school at all pertinent league functions
Strategically build and maintain program excellence through internal and external resources
REQUIREMENTS:
Able to coach during the dates and hours listed in the above summary.
Prior lacrosse coaching experience and/or a high level of playing experience
Have a sound knowledge of the sport specific rules and regulations as per US Lacrosse
Have strong leadership skills to motivate and develop student athletes
Ability to facilitate a positive, comprehensive, and competitive program
Able to travel to all away competitions
