Teacher of Mathematics
The successful candidate will teach Mathematics at the Middle and Senior School levels. Experience teaching Advanced Placement or equivalent Mathematics is required, and the ability to teach Statistics is an asset. The role centres on supporting deep conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and problem solving in alignment with the BC Curriculum’s competency-based approach.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Advanced Placement or equivalent Mathematics courses; experience teaching Statistics is an asset
- Design learning experiences aligned with the BC Curriculum, emphasizing curricular competencies, inquiry, and real-world problem solving
- Employ a range of pedagogical approaches, including inquiry-based, problem-based, project-based learning, and direct instruction
- Integrate Social Emotional Learning and Executive Functioning skills into lesson design and classroom practice
- Use a variety of assessment and evaluation methodologies aligned with competency-based assessment, including student-led conferences and an online reporting system
- Create a differentiated, inclusive, and highly motivating learning environment in which all learners can thrive
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities and contribute actively to the broader life of the School
- Willingness to provide cover for absences and/or advisory responsibilities as required
Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- A recognized graduate qualification at the university level, with appropriate academic credentials demonstrating expertise in Mathematics
- A minimum of three years’ teaching experience
- Experience teaching Advanced Placement or equivalent Mathematics is required
- Ability to teach statistics or equivalent is an asset
- Eligible to obtain licensure with the Bermuda Educators Council and the British Columbia Teacher Certification https://teacherregulation.gov.bc.ca

- A responsive practitioner able to adapt teaching strategies and learning experiences to meet student needs

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, diplomacy, and tact
- Relevant student safety certifications (e.g., SCARS, First Aid/CPR/ AED) are required or must be obtained
- A clean criminal record
