POSITION SUMMARY
This position joins a collaborative department known for its intellectual curiosity and commitment to offering a broad array of courses that both challenge and inspire students. Mathematics faculty members enjoy significant autonomy in developing curriculum, pedagogy, and assessments grounded in current research and developmentally appropriate practice. The ideal candidate is a motivated, creative, and flexible educator who thrives in an environment that encourages innovation, and supports the design of unique courses at the Advanced Placement, honors, standard, and elective levels.

Deep content expertise in secondary mathematics, with demonstrated strength in Calculus and Statistics (including the ability to teach AP level courses).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Upper School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for upholding the school's mission through the following key duties:
Teach a full load of Upper School mathematics courses at various levels, from foundational to Advanced Placement (AP).
Develop and deliver lessons that promote deep understanding, inquiry, critical thinking, and real-world application.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and ensure all students experience success.
Provide individualized student support (as schedule allows) throughout the school day.
Partner with the academic leadership to support students of concern.
Collaborate with departmental colleagues to design, refine, and update curriculum, sequencing, and assessment frameworks.
Assess and evaluate student learning through timely grading, thoughtful feedback, and varied assessment strategies.
Maintain accurate records, assessments, and feedback using the School’s LMS.
Support departmental alignment and best practices in technology use, including graphing calculators and associated software.
Serve as a grade level advisor and participate in the life of the school through club sponsorships, extracurricular programs, athletics, or community service initiatives.
Communicate regularly with students and families to support academic growth and character development.
Pursue ongoing professional development and actively contribute to the growth of the Mathematics Department.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a STEM-related field (required)
Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (preferred)
Minimum of three years of experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level. Independent school experience is preferred.
Experience teaching a range of courses including advanced or AP-level content
Note: Candidates with significant independent school experience or departmental leadership experience may be considered for additional roles or responsibilities.
